Port Adelaide captain Connor Rozee remains no certainty to suit up for Saturday's Showdown against Adelaide as he continues to deal with a broken hand.

Rozee missed last week's trip to Tasmania to face the Hawks due to the injury, which was sustained in Round 17 against West Coast and saw Rozee subbed out of the victory.

The Power skipper will make a call Wednesday, with the midfield-defender hybrid needing to get through drills over the next two days to be cleared to play.

"That's the plan," Rozee said of seeing out a full training block to return.

"We had a pretty short turnaround last week. Didn't have enough time to let it settle down. The conditions were pretty brutal down in Tasmania.

"We'll see how it goes Wednesday, test it out. If we're all happy, I'll be good to go.

"It'll be the pain threshold (that decides my selection). It's a broken bone, so there's always going to be something there. Fortunately it's in a 'decent' spot.

"We'll reassess after we finish training Wednesday."

Rozee hasn't been able to be involved in skill drills due to the nature of his injury, with the Power star needing to avoid contact to his left hand.

Tuesday's session will see Rozee return to contact drills, which could force Rozee into an early call on his selection if the pain threshold is too high.

"The plan for the last week or so has been to give it as much rest as possible," he said.

"Once we decided that I wasn't going to play, it was to avoid as much contact with the hand as possible to make sure I didn't re-aggravate it.

"[Contact drills] will pick up tomorrow and I'll see how it feels over the course of the week."

Rozee might not be the only inclusion for coach Ken Hinkley's final showdown, with small forward Willie Rioli looking to return to AFL level after a week back in the SANFL.

Rioli kicked two goals from 13 disposals against North Adelaide in a 32-point win to put his name back in the selection mix after being omitted.

"From what I saw, the guys were great. I think Willie was pretty solid, from what I've spoken to the coaches about," Rozee said of the ex-Eagle.

"He's obviously got a bit of work to do with his conditioning and his body. So for him to go back there and gain some confidence, and hopefully put his best foot forward for the rest of the season, is going to be really important for the next few weeks.

"He wants to win and to give himself the best opportunity to help the team out. He had a pretty good mindset to go back. We were proud of him for that."

The Power will clash with their South Australian rivals on Saturday night at Adelaide Oval at 8:10pm (AEST).
