As we take another step closer to silly season, the AFL trade news and rumours continue to arise across the league's landscape.

The past week has been filled with plenty of news and rumours, with out-of-contract Pie Jordan De Goey continuing to dominate discussion, as does his teammate Brodie Grundy.

Here's your AFL trade news and rumours update...

Mitch Georgiades attracting rival interest

Out-of-favour Port Adelaide forward Mitch Georgiades is reportedly attracting interest from rival clubs.

The 20-year-old has played 17 games at senior level in 2022 but was left out of Ken Hinkley's side in Round 21.

The West Australian born forward has had speculation mount that a move back west could be a possibility, though reports suggest that Port are eager to lock away Georgiades on a new deal despite his "conversion issues" this year.

Georgiades is contracted through 2023.

Brisbane showing interest in premiership Hawk

Jack Gunston could be on his way to his third club in 2023, with Brisbane reportedly showing interest in the three-time premiership Hawk.

With Lions forward Dan McStay linked with a move to Victoria, Brisbane have been linked to several sharpshooting names, such as Gunston and Lance Franklin.

Gunston, who is an unrestricted free agent come season's end, has played 14 games this season, kicking 26 goals.

The 30-year-old has kicked 424 goals across his impressive career which begun at Adelaide, with a move North potentially now on the cards for the veteran.

Victorian club emerges as front runner for Grundy’s signature

Melbourne have emerged as the front runners to obtain Magpie Brodie Grundy this trade period, as the club prepares to lose Luke Jackson.

Jackson has been heavily linked with a move east, leaving a spot available for Grundy in the red and blue. While the Pie is still contracted beyond 2022, Collingwood are reportedly willing to pay as much as $300,000 of Grundy's salary per year if he went to a rival club.

GWS and Geelong have both made inquiries about the ruckman, but reports from 7 News' Mitch Cleary indicate that Melbourne is in the best position to get Grundy.

"A Brodie Grundy trade is now gathering momentum, opposition clubs now told that the Pies will be willing to pay $300,000 a year for Grundy's five years to leave the club," Cleary said earlier in the week.

"It means that combined with Adam Trealor's remaining money, it will see the Pies pay roughly $2.4 million for two players to play elsewhere in coming years. It could help them keep Jordan De Goey.

"Grundy has now met with GWS and Melbourne."

Zuhaar linked to cross-town rival

North Melbourne's Cam Zuhaar has reportedly stalled contract talks at Arden Street with a rival club emerging as a potential suitor for the young gun.

The Kangaroo has played 18 games in 2022, kicking 31 goals and has become a valuable asset to a rebuilding North Melbourne side.

While SEN report that Zuhaar is likely to remain at the club, with discussions to take place after the season, Essendon have inquired about acquiring the services of the young forward.

The Bombers' interest in the young gun is understood to be preliminary.

Pies reportedly keen to offer De Goey contract with behaviour clauses

Collingwood are reportedly set to offer the out-of-contract Jordan De Goey a new deal that will include triggers and clauses revolving around off-field conduct and behaviour.

De Goey has been linked to several rival clubs, with St Kilda emerging as one of the front runners for his signature.

The Herald Sun's Jon Ralph and Chris Cavanagh have reported that the Pies may be willing to offer De Goey up to $800,000 a year, similar to the deal that was taken off the table earlier in the year after the 26-year-old's off-field behaviour, but that extension would certainly include incentives to keep the Pie out of trouble.
