St Kilda forward Jack Billings has signed a two-year contract extension that will see him remain a Saint until at least the end of the 2019 season.

The 21-year-old has enjoyed his most consistent season yet for the club, and has averaged 22.8 disposals, 5.5 marks and four inside 50s per game in 2017, and has booted 20 goals for the year.

Billings told the club's website he was excited to finally secure his future, and is looking forward to helping the club achieve great things in the coming years.

“I’m very happy at St Kilda. We have a great group coming through who are really united and determined to take the next step,” Billings told saints.com.au.

“Both personally and collectively, I know we have a lot of improvement left in us, and I’m excited about what we can achieve together.”'

St Kilda's Chief Operating Officer Ameet Bains said the contract of Billings was an important one to finalise, given the talent of the player.

“Jack has emphatically demonstrated his ability to impact matches this season and that’s a reflection of how hard he continues to work away from match day," Bains told the club's website.

“He is a popular member of our playing group and someone we know will drive standards within the club over the coming seasons.

“While he clearly has enormous talent, we expect him to continue to push himself to improve over the next two years which is really exciting.”
