West Coast's Andrew Gaff has been sent straight to the Tribunal after this incident involving Fremantle's Andrew Brayshaw during Sunday's clash at Optus Stadium.

Brayshaw has since undergone surgery on a broken jaw, and can not eat solid foods for the next four weeks.

In total, 15 charges were laid across the weekend, but Gaff is the only player who is facing a suspension while the other penalties are all financial sanctions.

Fremantle's Michael Johnson can accept a $2000 fine for striking Gaff in Sunday's game.

Western Bulldogs' Dale Morris has been cleared of making contact with Saints forward Josh Battle which was deemed an accidental head clash.

Other sanctions included:

  • Cale Hooker can accept a $2000 sanction for striking Ryan Schoenmakers.
  • Dyson Heppell can accept a $1000 sanction for careless umpire contact.
  • Aaron Francis can accept a $2000 sanction for rough conduct on Jaeger O’Meara.
  • Ben Cunnington can accept a $2000 sanction for striking Dayne Beams.
  • Jacob Hopper can accept a $2500 sanction for a third offence of careless umpire contact.
  • Christian Petracca can accept a $1000 sanction for careless umpire contact.
  • Alex Sexton can accept a $2000 sanction for rough conduct on Nathan Jones.
  • Hayden Ballantyne and Liam Ryan can each accept a $1500 sanction for instigating a melee.
  • Daniel Venables, Jeremy McGovern, Sean Darcy and Luke Ryan can each accept a $1000 sanction for melee involvement.
