Calder Cannons livewire talent Adam Sweid has rocketed up the draft ranks early in the Coates Talent League season this year, as his return from an ACL rupture has put his name on the radar.

Tied to Essendon through the club's Next Generation Academy, the Bombers will be keen to begin preparing for a suitable amount of draft points as Sweid continues to make his case for selection in this year's National Draft.

The midfielder is the latest player to be analysed in the Craft of the Draft's 'Introducing' series, dissecting a prospect's leading traits and attributes ahead of their draft campaign.

Sweid's multiple best-on-ground performances in the Coates Talent League and Vic Metro trial games have seen the teenager's draft stock skyrocket in recent weeks, grabbing attention with his highlight-reel-worthy moments.

"Across the first three rounds of the Coates Talent League, Sweid averaged 27 disposals, seven tackles and a goal, showing he could do it all in the midfield," Craft of the Draft analyst Jonty Ralphsmith said.

"It's rare to have a player that is a threat offensively, defensively, inside and outside, which is what gives me so much cause for excitement about Adam Sweid."
