For the Kangaroos, Shaun Higgins was their best afield. The 28-year-old missed most of 2016 with a meniscus injury and was underdone when he returned for the final home and away game. The live wire forward had 21 disposals and kicked a goal. Shaun Atley was also impressive, racking up 24 touches from halfback and through the middle. Jack Ziebell also played well in his debut as skipper.
