Luke Breust may have called time on his illustrious AFL playing career, but his involvement in the league seems to be far from over.
Speaking on Triple M's Rush Hour with JB & Billy, the three-time premiership hero hinted at the possibility of taking on a coaching role in the near future, highlighting his enjoyment of demonstrating leadership to the Hawks' blossoming young talents.
“I'll try and stay in footy. Obviously, footy has been so good to me and I'd like to pass on some knowledge to the younger generation," Breust said on Thursday.
"Hopefully, there's some opportunities that pop up in terms of footy and staying in there.
"I've really started to enjoy the coaching side of things in the back end of the career and getting some satisfaction from [helping guys] like Dylan Moore, Nick Watson, and Ginnivan and the guys coming through.
"When I see them do something on the weekend that we've been working on for 10 weeks, it's pretty cool."

Breust spoke highly of his current coach, Sam Mitchell, and how he helped develop him into one of the league's premier small forwards, now imparting that knowledge onto Hawthorn's next generation of stars.
"I remember 'Mitch' being so good with both feet, and some of the things he could do with the footy were amazing," Breust said of his former teammate and now coach.
"His is probably more field kicking, but I tried to apply that to around the goals.
"I still tell all the young guys these days, you should never miss skinny. I see guys miss skinny all the time; you haven't given your kick a chance."
The 34-year-old might not have to venture too far away from his current club in his post-playing career, with Hawthorn senior coach Sam Mitchell welcoming the possibility of Breust joining the ranks in a press conference on Thursday.
"Absolutely [would want Breust in the coaching team]. I think he's going to be pretty well sought after in that area," Mitchell said.
"But his passion is to finish the season really well and make sure that's 100 per cent his focus. He spoke really nicely and gently until we started talking about the rest of the season, and he had this bit of rage behind his eyes, so he's still burning to make sure he can achieve and help us achieve as much as we can in both VFL and AFL for the rest of the season."
Breust will tie Mitchell for third place in the games played list for Hawthorn this weekend against Melbourne, running on to an AFL field for the 307th time.
