West Coast Eagles midfielder Deven Robertson will miss the remainder of the 2026 campaign, after scans revealed a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
A hard-nosed ball-winner, Robertson had made a significant impact on a struggling Eagles engine room since defecting to his home state from Brisbane, where he missed out on two premierships behind one of the most talent-laden midfields in the landscape.
Head of Football John Worsfold said the club was "disappointed" for Robertson and expected him to attack his recovery with the vigour they love about him.
“Unfortunately, scans today confirmed Deven has ruptured his ACL and will miss the rest of the season,” Worsfold said.
“We're incredibly disappointed for Dev. He has made a significant impact since joining the Club last November and has been outstanding in the way he has gone about his football.
“He's an ultimate professional, and we have no doubt he will attack his rehabilitation with the same commitment he brings every day. The club will support him fully throughout his recovery.”

It is the cruelest of blows for the 24-year-old Robertson, who was finally experiencing regular senior football, and flourishing because of it. In his four completed matches this season, the former Larke Medallist averaged 18 disposals, five tackles and four clearances per game, and looked to only improve on those numbers with more time in coach Andrew McQualter's system.
