Hawthorn ruckman Jonathon Ceglar has signed a two-year deal that will see him remain at the Hawks until at least the end of the 2019 season.

Since making his debut for the Hawks in round 14, 2013, Ceglar has gone on to feature in 50 matches for Hawthorn, despite a knee injury ruling him out for the entire 2017 season.

Ceglar has now recovered from the ACL injury he sustained in round 22, 2016, and is set to be fit in time for the beginning of the 2018 pre-season.

“It’s been a tough 12 months for Jon with injury but we are confident he can get back to his form of 2016 and be a real asset to us around the ground,” Hawthorn Recruiting and List Manager Graham Wright told hawthornfc.com.au.

“He’s been working incredibly hard in his rehab and having him in the mix next season will add some great flexibility to our line-up.

“We’re really excited by the depth of our ruck division and look forward to seeing a variety of strong partnerships form between the likes of Ceglar, McEvoy and Pittonet.”

Over his 50-game career, Ceglar has averaged 20.8 hitouts, 10.9 disposals, 3.0 marks and 2.5 tackles per game.
