Sam Mitchell has confirmed both Jack Ginnivan and Jack Gunston are set to play in the blockbuster preliminary final against the Geelong Cats.
Hawthorn coach Sam Mitchell has put any rumours to bed about Hawthorn forwards Jack Gunston and Jack Ginnivan, who are both confirmed to play this Friday against the Geelong Cats.
“I'm not sure, exactly what he's (Ginnivan) doing, [but] he'll play,” said Mitchell.
Small forward Jack Ginnivan underwent scans after the Hawks' elimination final against the Giants.
The forward underwent a scan on his hamstring and was restricted at training before their trip to Adelaide.
Ginnivan was relatively quiet on the weekend, with just eight disposals and no impact on the scoreboard.
All-Australian forward Jack Gunston finished the game on the bench with "hamstring awareness", but still played a major role in the Hawks' win over the Crows, kicking five goals and taking seven marks for the match.
Mitchell confirmed there are no lingering concerns, and Gunston will play.

The Hawks and the Cats share one of the most heated rivalries in the AFL, but Mitchell isn't playing into it.
“It's still finals footy. They are a good side; they have been going pretty smoothly for a long period of time,” Mitchell told the media.
The Hawks will need both forwards at their best this week to defeat the Cats and qualify for their first grand final under Sam Mitchell as coach.
