Hawks vice-captain Dylan Moore has expressed his side's eagerness to go out and play the Giants in an elimination final.

"I think everyone is excited with what lies ahead," he said on Monday.

"I love footy, so I'd love to keep playing, but the body feels really good after a tough six weeks."

He also spoke on how the week off has been helpful and somewhat an advantage for the bottom four sides in the top eight.

"Yeah, certainly, I think we saw that last year with Brisbane, it's a little bit of an equaliser," he added.

Important defender Josh Weddle was sighted at full flight for the first time after being absent since Round 16. Weddle returned in the VFL over the weekend, and Moore spoke on the potential of him being back to face the Giants.

"He's a massive player for us, so influential," he said.

"The way he runs and defends, I think he sets up a lot and creates a lot of threat both defensively and offensively.

"Hopefully, he pulls up really well, trains well this week, so we can have him back out there."

Jack Ginnivan has been a player who is in unbelievable form for the Hawks and could be a key to their success in the finals.

Moore shared his thoughts on Ginnivan's great form since being dropped early in the season.

"Ever since he came straight back into the side, he's just about been the best half-forward in the comp."

Moore and the Hawks will face off against the GWS Giants at ENGIE Stadium in the first elimination final on Saturday at 3:15pm (AEST).
