Injured GWS gun midfielder Tom Green has found the reported interest from Tasmania ahead of its 2028 introduction "flattering".
Green is arguably the biggest name to come out of contract at the end of next year, with the Devils set to be a major player in the trade, free agency and draft space.
"The only person from Tasmania I've spoken to is Jacob Gaynor (former GWS social media staffer). I actually try to screen his calls when I can because he's annoying," Green said on SEN.
"That's the thing, he's actually their social media guy. He's the one who has contacted me the most. He says that Tassie is all good fun, but I actually haven't spoken to anyone from Tasmania yet."
Green says he tends to consume some of the football media, but living in Sydney, the news doesn't travel as far.
The Herald Sun reported last month that the 25-year-old was the Devils' primary target.
"But seeing those sort of headlines, I mean, they're really flattering for a start," Green said.
"I always find that weird. I'm never really sure, being in Sydney, sort of what the go is. Should someone have spoken to me or not?
"The main point, I guess, is that I find it really flattering to feel wanted in that way, does feel nice.
"But like I said, I don't read too much into that, there's still a lot of time between now and when Tasmania are actually going to come into fruition."
Green is currently recovering from an ACL injury he sustained in the pre-season.
