GWS has ruled out an Aaron Cadman return against Collingwood, while Leek Aleer looms as the likeliest replacement for the injured Jack Buckley (concussion).
The changes might not end there, with coach Adam Kingsley hinting at some form of worries.
"Some guys aren't perhaps playing at their best form at the moment," Kingsley said.
"Is making the change the best for them and the best for us? We'll make those decisions tomorrow."
Aleer is set to replace Buckley, given the Pies generally play with three talls in Dan McStay, Jack Buller and Tim Membrey, but impressive youngster James Leake is also in the conversation.
"I'd be pretty confident in either of those boys coming in," Kingsley said.
"We'll mix what best suits match-ups against Collingwood. There's times where they play three talls, so that may help Leek get in.
"Whether we think James can play above his height, that'll be another decision we need to make."
Adding to the selection conundrum is the availability of speedsters Brent Daniels (hamstring) and Toby Bedford (hamstring), while Cadman (pelvis) will need at least another week.
"Brent and Toby trained," Kingsley added.
"I'll discuss it with the physios later on, we'll assess their level of risk and see which way we go, but they're both certainly in discussion.
"Cads (Aaron Cadman) didn't train, and he won't play this weekend."
Ollie Hannaford didn't do his selection hopes any harm, dominating in the VFL with a three-goal, 33-disposal performance, while Jack Ough's performance (two goals and 36 possessions) was a standout.
Ryan Angwin won't have to concern himself with a stint in the VFL this week after an impressive outing against St Kilda, where he was tasked with curbing Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera.
The star Saint collected 27 possessions and eight clearances, but Angwin still received a solitary coach's vote, presumably from Kingsley.
Kingsley floated Angwin as a run-with option for Pies superstar Nick Daicos.
The Giants will announce their final 23 on Thursday at 6:20pm (AEST).
