GWS captain Toby Greene has revealed that the Giants will receive a major boost for their blockbuster elimination final against Hawthorn on Saturday, with star forward Jesse Hogan set to be named for selection alongside veteran recruit Jake Stringer and midfielder Josh Kelly.

The 2024 Coleman medallist has been managing a foot injury that he reaggravated against the Western Bulldogs in Round 21, which had also seen him miss the Giants' Round 17 win over West Coast and Round 19 fixture against Essendon.

Greene admitted the club wasn't sure Hogan would get up and firing for Saturday, but has timed his recovery perfectly for their September campaign.

"[Hogan's] great. He's good to go. He'll be there Saturday," Greene told media on Tuesday.

"He'll do whatever he has to do on Thursday again. He's turned it around pretty quickly because we weren't sure if we'd get him for the first final.

"It's great to have him, we know what he can bring. I'm sure he's going to be hard to play on the weekend."

However, it isn't all positive news coming out of the Giants' camp. Jack Buckley was absent from Tuesday's main training as he continues to nurse a calf strain, while Brent Daniels left training early, but Greene believed Daniels may be named if he pulls up well after their Thursday training session.

"[Daniels] is always a little bit frustrated. He wants to be out there and do as much as he can every session. He'll be fine," Greene said.

"He's still a big chance to play. I'm sure we'll find out a bit more on Thursday."
