Gold Coast will challenge Bailey Humphrey's two-game suspension at the Tribunal, which is set to be placed on Tuesday.
Humphrey was handed a two-match ban for his tackle on Richmond's Maurice Rioli, which was graded by the Match Review Officer (MRO) as careless conduct, high contact and high impact.
The Victorian was penalised by the umpire for a dangerous tackle.
Coach Damien Hardwick, in his post-match address, thought Humphrey should have been awarded a free kick.

"No, I wouldn't have thought so. It should have been holding the ball," he said.
The Suns have a bye in round three.
If unsuccessful at the Tribunal, Humphrey will miss clashes against Melbourne at the MCG and Sydney at Gather Round.
The club will also be without star recruit Christian Petracca for at least a month.
Petracca injured his hamstring in the victory over the Tigers, coming to the bench during the third term and was sent for scans on Sunday.
"Christian received scans this morning and our team, alongside Christian, will now work through the optimal course of action," GC SUNS General Manager of Football Craig Cameron said.
Gold Coast has produced a perfect start to the 2026 campaign, completing a three-week unbeaten streak against Geelong, West Coast and the Tigers.
They sit atop the AFL ladder on 12 points and 191 per cent, narrowly above the Western Bulldogs as the only other undefeated side.
