Gold Coast defender Sean Lemmens has been suspended for one game for a strike in the VFL over the weekend.

Lemmens was charged with a fourth-quarter strike on Sandringham and St Kilda forward Dan Butler, which was graded as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact.

The Suns veteran has accepted an early plea of one match, reduced from two games, meaning he'll at least be unavailable for the club's reserves side's clash against the Coburg Lions, as well as the senior team's contest against Fremantle.

A pair of Mid-Season Draft hopefuls have also received scrutiny from the VFL/W & Talent Pathway Competitions Match Review Panel for incidents they were involved in.

Former Sydney player and current VFL-listed GWS player Marc Sheather will miss one match after he was charged with rough conduct against Port Melbourne leader Harvey Hooper in the fourth quarter.

The VFL MRP graded the incident as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact, constituting a base sanction of two weeks, which has been reduced with an early plea.

Sheather's suspension will be an intriguing point come the Mid-Season Draft on Wednesday night, given he nominated to re-enter the AFL competition.

Southport Sharks ruckman Brayden Crossley has accepted an early plea of a $150 fine and reprimand from the VFL MRP, after footage showed forceful front-on contact on Frankston's Tomoya Owens.

Crossley received a one-week ban as a base sanction due to the careless conduct, low impact and high contact nature of the incident.
