Star forward Toby Greene will lead GWS Giants for the fourth straight season in 2026.

The club made the announcement on Monday afternoon, with Greene to spearhead a four-person leadership group.

Midfielder Tom Green and defensive duo Connor Idun and Jack Buckley round out the leadership group.

It's a tighter leadership group than that which served in 2025, with Stephen Coniglio, Josh Kelly, Sam Taylor and Brent Daniels all dropping out.

Giants Executive General Manager of Football, Jason McCartney, said it was great to have locked away the club's leadership positions.

“Toby has been an exceptional leader for our club and it made perfect sense for him to continue to lead the club in 2026,” McCartney said.

“Over the last three years he's led our side brilliantly and we have no doubt he'll continue to do the same this year.

“It's also great to have Tom, Connor and Jack take on expanded leadership roles and be elevated to vice-captains.

“All three continue to show exceptional leadership qualities and it's great to have them continue to develop as leaders under Toby's guidance.
“I'd also like to acknowledge the tremendous work and leadership of our two outgoing vice-captains, Josh Kelly and Stephen Coniglio
“The work they've done as leaders of our club is immeasurable and while they don't have the title anymore, we know they'll both continue to be incredible leaders of our club and help set the standard for our group.

“Both Stephen and Josh are very supportive of the change and the opportunity that it presents for Tom, Connor, and Jack which is a great reflection of the people they are and their desire to help their teammates become the best footballers and people they can be.

“Our leadership for 2026 brings together a strong mix of experience and fresh energy, and we're excited about where it can take the club in 2026 and beyond.”
