Geelong is tipped to name ruckman Rhys Stanley ahead of Saturday's 2025 AFL Grand Final against Brisbane at the MCG, replacing the injured Tom Stewart.

Stanley has missed the past two finals with a hamstring injury but was deemed available for selection last week against Hawthorn, although he was overlooked.

Stewart was concussed and will miss the decider, forcing at least one change in the Cats' line-up.

Mark Blicavs has been shouldering the ruck load throughout September to good effect, and has been assisted by Sam De Koning and Shannon Neale.

However, the Lions' two-ruck attack of Darcy Fort and Oscar McInerney looks set to force Stanley back into the senior side, while also adding flexibility to Blicavs' role.

The versatile tall has been thrown around in multiple roles over his long career, but could be earmarked to hinder Harris Andrews or fill the Stewart void.

The Lions are also expected to recall Lachie Neale to replace Jarrod Berry.

Neale suffered a grade-three calf strain in the qualifying final loss to the Cats and has miraculously managed to put himself in contention to feature in his third consecutive grand final.

However, the news doesn't appear as positive for Berry, who dislocated his shoulder, the same one he injured recently.

It is understood that the Victorian didn't appear on the training track at Ikon Park on Thursday.

Final teams will be released at 6:20pm (AEST).
