Geelong on-baller Tom Atkins has re-committed to the club for a further two years, locking him away until the end of 2027.
Atkins, who was set to become a free agent at season's end, was unlikely to depart amid a career-best year.
The 29-year-old began his career as a mature-age recruit after the Cats picked him up in the 2019 Rookie Draft.
Since, the bullocking midfielder has become an integral commodity in Chris Scott's side, playing a pivotal role in the 2022 premiership triumph.
Atkins has also been acknowledged as a two-time Best Clubman, claiming the honours in 2022 and 2023. He has played a total of 138 games.
His 2025 output has been encouraging after taking a more prominent role through the midfield, averaging 18.6 disposals, 5.5 clearances and a whopping 9.9 tackles.
Geelong EGM of Football Andrew Mackie lauded his impact on the group, and his ability to play multiple roles when needed.
"Tom is a player that is strong in the contest and who can play a variety of different roles for us," Mackie said.
"Tom is a quality Geelong person, he is a great leader within our program and we love how he goes about it."
Atkins has also taken on a coaching role at the club, working within the AFLW program in the midfield group.
Atkins joins teammates Mark Blicavs and Gryan Miers as the latest Cats to have re-signed recently.
Geelong will fly west to take on the Eagles on Sunday.
