The Geelong Cats will be without Irish utility Mark O'Connor for their clash against Richmond on Saturday afternoon, as the club reports he has suffered a leg injury.

Details of the leg issue and O'Connor's timeline for return following this week are yet to be revealed.

Young gun Mitch Knevitt will come into the side as his replacement and will play his seventh game of the season.

George Stevens has also now been named as an emergency after Mitch Knevitt was moved into the starting 23.

O'Connor was Geelong's unsung hero against the Swans in their 43-point win last Sunday, unleashing a relentless tag on Sydney superstar Isaac Heeney. O'Connor ultimately held Heeney to a season-low 15 disposals, with just eight being effective.
