Geelong has farewelled Xavier Ivisic and Patrick Retschko, with the club confirming the pair won't be offered contracts for 2026.

Both Ivisic and Retschko joined the Cats 12 months ago as rookies but failed to play senior football.

Ivisic was a Geelong Falcons product, and was taken with Pick 12 in the rookie draft. He played 13 VFL games, averaging 15.2 disposals and 3.5 tackles.

Retschko was drafted from the Oakleigh Charges with Pick 23. He featured 18 times for the Cats reserves side, averaging 21.6 touches and four marks.

Andrew Mackie, Geelong's EGM of Football, acknowledged the contributions of both players to the team.

"It is always a difficult time of year, farewelling players, and both Xavier and Pat were great teammates and contributors to our program," Mackie said.

"We thank them for their hard work and dedication, and wish them every success in the next chapter of their careers."

The pair will join Mitch Duncan, departing the club, with the Geelong veteran hanging up the boots following a 16-year stint at Kardinia Park.

Duncan played 305 games, and was a two-time premiership player (2011, 2022), but didn't feature in the 2025 decider.

"Further list changes will be communicated throughout the AFL Free Agency and Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period," the Cats said.
