Geelong captain Patrick Dangerfield said he is planning on returning for the club's clash in Round 13 against Gold Coast.

Dangerfield hurt his hamstring in the victory over Port Adelaide in South Australia last week, which usually has a two-to-three week timeline, depending on its severity.

However, given the star's soft-tissue history, compounded by the way he plays the game and his age, it would be forgiven if Chris Scott and the Cats coaching staff take on a cautious approach.

But Dangerfield has other plans.

Speaking during Thursday night's clash, the 35-year-old indicated he'll be eyeing the Suns contest at GMHBA Stadium on June 7.

"To be honest, the plan for next week (against West Coast) was always to miss," Dangerfield said.

"I think that stays the same. 35 and a long travel. But at this stage, it's pretty minor, and been able to do a full session (Thursday)."

Prior to the win over the Western Bulldogs, Dangerfield was seen doing laps at a local park just days after injuring his hamstring.
