Geelong is becoming increasingly confident that Tyson Stengle's return to AFL football is not far away, according to gun forward Jeremy Cameron.
Stengle took an extended Christmas break, citing personal reasons, but returned in late January to training, and is currently building up his loads.
The All-Australian Cat has been on an individualised program, but has turned heads at training, hinting at a senior selection in the near future.
"He has been training really well, he has been going really well. He is in and around the club all the time which is great," Cameron said.
"As we have always said the entire way along, it is always arms around him and support him, then hopefully we can get him back playing some really good football.
"He has been training really well, match play that we had on Friday that I mentioned, he trained really well and played very well.
"It is exciting for him and I am looking forward to having him back in the side whenever that is, he is a great character to have around and we know how dangerous he is with football in hand. "
The Cats sit 1-1 after an opening fortnight of football before heading into an early-season bye.
They responded to a poor Opening Round showing against Gold Coast, storming back to snatch the victory from Fremantle by 10 points in Round 1.
Geelong return to host Adelaide at GMHBA Stadium before a mouth-watering Easter Monday clash with Hawthorn.
