West Coast is reportedly "open to considering" the future of premiership forward Liam Ryan, despite having one more year on his deal.

It was suggested in April that rival clubs saw Ryan as gettable as the Eagles look toward the future, and developing their next flag team.

This has seen St Kilda, Essendon, and Carlton consider whether the 28-year-old could bolster their front line as the competition has taken a major shift in favouring dominant small forwards.

Herald Sun journalist Jon Ralph also believes that Port Adelaide is another club, under new coach Josh Carr, that would be a viable option.

"Ryan has one more year on his deal but is open to the prospect of coming east if that advantages both parties, with Victoria seen as an early preferred destination," Ralph wrote.

"The Eagles are keen to find ways to secure more draft picks, and Ryan, exonerated over a fight at a music festival at the start of the year, is open to a fresh start."

The gun forward played a pivotal role in delivering the club's 2018 premiership, and still has more to give at senior level.

Ryan played 123 games for the Eagles and has kicked 158 goals.

West Coast currently hold Pick 1 in the upcoming National Draft, but will look to strengthen their hand.

It is understood that free agent and co-captain Oscar Allen will be departing at season's end, which could yield the rebuilding club another top-five selection.

Talks around wunderkind Harley Reid continue to bubble away despite developments suggesting the Eagles could retain the former Pick 1 on a monster deal.
