St Kilda hasn't officially said it, but they are in a rebuilding phase, and have been for the past two years.

The Saints have welcomed a host of young talent in recent seasons, headed by Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera, and now believe established stars are the way forward.

The interest in a Carlton ruckman has been well documented, while it is widely believed that a Giants defender is bound for Moorabbin.

But who else would improve St Kilda's list going forward?

Here are five trade and free agency targets for St Kilda to consider this year.

This next target is in the same vein as Aleer, with St Kilda in desperate need to bolster their defensive stocks.

The peculiar nature of Silvagni's contract has raised eyebrows, and has already seen one rival (Collingwood) express interest in the swingman.

But the Saints, given the immense salary cap space, could offer a deal that would tie the Blues' hands in knots.

It is difficult not to see a Silvagni in Carlton colours, but as the club goes through a state of soul searching and suspected overhaul, as incoming CEO Graham Wright is tipped to do, players could seek a new home.

The 27-year-old has turned his career around after multiple ventures on the wing and up forward, with 2025 seeing a Silvagni return to his home: defence.

Not to mention, his father, Stephen, is the list manager at St Kilda.
