The Dockers were one of the biggest winners of the 2024 trade period, landing former Tigers superstar Shai Bolton, which has propelled their charge toward a maiden premiership in 2025.
As the season winds down, it has become apparent there are no glaring holes in Fremantle's playing list, making their potential off-season one of intrigue.
So, where can they make upgrades, and which out-of-contract players could the Purple Haze realistically add as they enter their latest premiership window?
We take a look at five trade and free agency targets for Fremantle to consider this year.
1Brandon Starcevich
The Dockers' half-back rotation could be considered the weakest area of their playing list, relying heavily on star Jordan Clark to create their run and carry from the defensive 50.
While Karl Worner and Heath Chapman have been solid options in their own right, a boost here would be a big help, with Luke Ryan (6.4) and Clark (5.3) the only Dockers averaging at least three rebound 50s per game. Every other AFL team has at least three players over that threshold.
Western Australian-born premiership Lion Brandon Starcevich may be one to consider on Fremantle's radar. His production has taken a slight dip this year, featuring in just eight games due to concussion battles. Still, he wouldn't be the easiest of gets as he enters the off-season as a restricted free agent, and the Lions are heavily interested in maintaining his talents.
However, he presents as a quality defensive option that has experience contributing to a winning brand of football and would offer a lethal kick from defensive 50 that would create transition opportunities for the Dockers.
