Carlton has been front-page news regarding the future of Tom De Koning, as he weighs up a monster $12 million deal from St Kilda.
The Blues are hopeful the star ruckman remains at IKON Park, but have opened the possibilities of a future without De Koning.
But as the club sits precariously outside the top eight with a list deemed premiership ready, could there be major moves on the agenda come the 2025 trade and draft periods?
Carlton is currently without a first-round pick after swapping selections to snare Jagga Smith last year, with their first pick coming at 35.
Here are five trade and free agency targets for Carlton to consider this year...
1Max Ramsden
Hawthorn's depth option has battled valiantly in the VFL for the majority of his career, totalling seven senior games in the past three years.
Ramsden plays the perfect second ruck, whilst also spending large amounts of time up forward, which has quickly become a significant commodity for clubs.
Carlton poses as an ideal landing spot for the 22-year-old in search of more AFL opportunity, with Lloyd Meek and Mabior Chol keeping him in the reserves.
Ramsden also presents as an option to potentially help fill the ruck void should De Koning depart at season's end, whilst also assisting up forward to alleviate the pressure placed on Harry McKay and Charlie Curnow.
Brodie Kemp and Jack Silvagni have been used in the swingman role, as has Mitch McGovern, which has added to the instability and inconsistency among the Blues' tall contingent.
