After a promising start to their 2025 campaign, the Adelaide Crows have found themselves in pretty good stead, while simultaneously keen to take the next step to propel them into a powerhouse of the league.

They have a neat young core that includes players like Dan Curtin, Josh Rachele and Riley Thilthorpe, and while they continue to grow, some structural gaps and position bolstering would be handy to take care of.

With several South Australians coming out of contract or wanting a move home, it could be the perfect time for the Crows to look to the trade table and add some depth and polish to their already strong roster.

Here are five players Adelaide could look to target this off-season.

Drafted to Collingwood in 2020, Poulter showed in his first year that he had plenty of promise, playing 11 games for the season in a poor year for the Magpies. The following year, he only managed to play one game and was promptly shipped off to the Bulldogs the year after that.

Since then, the versatile midfielder has only managed to play in 17 games for the Bulldogs in two and a half seasons, proving his inability to break into what is an admittedly strong midfield. Hailing from Adrossan, a town just less than two hours out of Adelaide, Poulter's lack of opportunity at senior level could see him seeking a move back to his home state and the Crows a perfect suitor.

While the Crows currently don't have any issues with their midfield depth, standing at 193cm, Poulter is tall and athletic, capable of performing across multiple positions, including midfield, wing and half-back. He has the ability to adapt to various roles and would offer the Crows flexibility in their lineup. Poulter will come out of contract at the end of 2025, which will give the Crows a perfect opportunity to bring him back home.
