Alex Cincotta isn't ready to give up on his AFL dream.
The former Carlton utility was delisted by the Blues after three seasons and 40 games.
But Cincotta, who joined the Ikon Park club through the 2023 SSP, is still hopeful of returning to the top flight.
"What's next? I'll continue to keep playing, I reckon," he said on AFL Trade Radio.
"That's my goal. I still feel like I've got a lot to offer a club. Obviously, it didn't go my way in the exit meeting, but I'm still keen to keep playing AFL footy."
The 28-year-old admitted he was "shocked" by Carlton's decision to let him go, especially given the body of work he produced.
"It was a little bit (of a shock). Obviously, I had my injuries this year and I played sore," he said further.
"It didn't quite go my way with my body. I thought I had a pretty good 2024 season. I went into my exit meeting, and the boys just said the club is going in a different direction, and I won't be offered a contract for next year.
"It came as a little bit of a surprise. I'd done some big jobs in the past, so I was a little bit surprised. Unfortunately, that's just the system and the way things go sometimes.
Cincotta revealed that his manager, James Pitcher from Bravo Management, has been working behind the scenes, to the point where there have been a "few interested" clubs.
"I've got my manager, James Pitcher, who has been working really hard for me in the background," he added.
"He's been talking to a few clubs, and there are a few interested. We're just waiting for the trade period to open up, and hopefully, some chats can start to pick up, and I can get picked up by a club."
Cincotta poses as a free hit for clubs around the league, given his delisted free agency status.
West Coast was recently granted four additional rookie list spots as part of their AFL assistance package, and could be a potential destination.
