A dominant performance on Saturday night has further cemented the Demons' favouritism for the 2021 premiership, and fans are backing the men in the red and blue to go the distance.

In a recent poll put to our followers prior to the weekend's events, Melbourne were the clear favourites to continue their hot run of form to the very end, amassing 34% of the votes with 1,164 votes from a total of 3,426 fans.

Edging past fellow qualifying-final victors Port Adelaide, the Demons are being heavily backed to end their 57-year premiership drought.

A strong win at home over Geelong has booked the Power a place in a preliminary final for the second-straight year, with the South Australians amassing 720 votes at 21%.

Despite finishing eighth, the Bombers (12%) gained a strong push to come third, but eventually fell to the Bulldogs come Sunday's showing in Tasmania.

Fans tipped Geelong (11%) and Brisbane (10%) ahead of the Dogs (5%), yet all three clubs still remain the running for the premiership.

The Lions and Bulldogs will clash this weekend in a bid to face the Power, while the Cats will host Greater Western Sydney in Perth on Friday night.

The Giants (3%) were seen as the least likely to snatch victory come the season decider, falling behind cross-town rival Sydney (5%) in the fans' eyes.

However, a one-point win on Saturday saw the Giants claim a seventh finals win in their short history and bringing an end to the Swans' 2021 campaign.

With the Demons and Power now set for a deserved break, the second round of finals are set to show which outsider firms as the best chance in taking the longer route to success.
