VFL outfit Werribee have signed midfielder Charlie Lazzaro for the 2026 season.
Lazzaro will be moving from Port Melbourne after playing every game for the Borough in 2025. He led the side in disposals for the season, averaging 27 per game.
He will also now pair up with former teammate Ajang Kuol mun, who also signed with Werribee for season 2026 after his stint at Port Melbourne.
The 23-year-old will bring experience after playing for the Kangaroos in the AFL for four years, where he amassed a total of 39 games in that time. Lazzaro now becomes the most experienced AFL player on the 'Bees' list.
The former Kangaroo was drafted in 2020, with his best AFL performance coming in 2024 with a 16-disposal and one-goal outing against Carlton. In 2023, he also had a 26-disposal performance against the Gold Coast Suns.
In 2022, Lazzaro was recognised with the Peter Scanlon Community Award, after volunteering in North Melbourne's community program The Huddle.
He also has played with current Werribee captain Jesse Clark and leadership player Jay Dahlhaus in 2019 at the Geelong Falcons.
After missing the VFL finals in 2025, Lazzaro will be looking to help Werribee get back into premiership contention in 2026.
