Sydney University have landed a major coup ahead of their 2026 campaign, signing former GWS Giants' big man Lachie Keeffe.

35-year-old Keeffe retired from AFL football at the end of 2025 after 119 games for the Giants and Collingwood, spanning across 17 seasons.

The club said it was delighted to secure the utility's signature as it looks to build on a fourth-place finish in 2025.

"SUANFC is thrilled to welcome Lachlan Keeffe to the Club for the 2026 season," a club post read.

"Following an outstanding AFL career, Lachie brings elite experience, leadership and professionalism to our program. We can't wait to see the impact he'll have both on and off the field as we chase success in 2026."

Keeffe's signing comes on the back of the club appointing former player and Division 1 coach Kyle Underwood as its new Premier Division Men's coach earlier this week.
