The first 69 nominations for next week's Mid-Season Draft have been revealed, with delisted North Melbourne utility Blake Drury, ex-Swan Matthew Ling and former Sun Jez McLennan among those hoping for an AFL contract.
Drury has been impressive in the SANFL this year with Adelaide's reserves, while McLennan made the move to Alberton over the off-season following a bright period with Central Districts.
Ling is also among the leading ex-AFL talent plying their trade in South Australia, doing so with Norwood, with Redlegs teammate Jack Saunders also putting his hand up for the Mid-Season Draft.
Other ex-AFL names to nominate so far, according to AFL.com.au, include ex-Cat Cooper Whyte, former West Coast and Fremantle tall Luke Strnadica, former Sydney-listed player Marc Sheather and Carlton-turned-Williamstown defender Luke Parks.
Among the list of early nominees are Richmond VFL trio Sam Toner, Tom McCarthy and Jhett Haeata, who could all fetch selections next Wednesday, with fellow VFL talents in Riley Baldi, Williamstown's Lucas Impey and Frankston's Jackson Voss.
Impey and Haeata are among the 11 nominees who have nominated for 18-month contracts, as opposed to nine-month deals, with leading prospect Gippsland defender Zac Walker among those.
Other names to have nominate who are in the mix are North Adelaide's Frank Szekely, North Melbourne's Cooper Trembath, Eastern Ranges over-ager Seth MacDonald and Western Jets tall Ayden McCarroll
Nominations for the 2025 Mid-Season Draft close at 5:00pm (AEST) on Friday, five days prior to the count on Wednesday, May 28.
