We are now 16 Round into a 2021 season that has produced plenty of surprises and upsets.

Whilst several teams have shot their way up the ladder, we want to look at the players who have been driving this success.

Now that we have a big enough body of work, it's time to laud the performances of the players who have been each club's biggest improvers.

As always, let us know who we have overrated and who we have snubbed.

Callum Mills

The Swans - one of the youngest sides in the comp - are awaiting a finals birth and have improvers across the board.

Tom McCartin has been converted into a full-time defender and is now playing his best footy. McCartin has shown so much growth that he is now trusted with jobs on the opposition's biggest bodies.

Fellow defender Jordan Dawson has also become a lock in this Sydney line-up, whilst 22-year-old Oliver Florent continues to impress.

In his sixth season, Callum Mills has 'popped' to become an elite ball-winner, averaging 27.5 touches a game, following a his previous peak of 19.2 DPG.

The decision to move Mills from a defensive role into the midfield has paid dividends for John Longmire, with the youngster being one of Sydney's best performers in 2021.

Mills now sits in the Swans top-three for disposals, clearances, tackles, marks and inside-50's this season, and at 24-years-of-age he is only getting better.
