We are now 16 Round into a 2021 season that has produced plenty of surprises and upsets.

Whilst several teams have shot their way up the ladder, we want to look at the players who have been driving this success.

Now that we have a big enough body of work, it's time to laud the performances of the players who have been each club's biggest improvers.

Shai Bolton

It looks like this great Tiger team is finally reaching the end of it's dynasty.

Many of the great players that have carried them through three premierships are now on the other side of 30, and the time at the top has taken a toll.

Nathan Broad has arguably had his best year, averaging career-highs in disposals, marks and rebounds before a syndesmosis injury will likely cut his his season short.

Liam Baker has shown his ability to play in a number of roles and is developing into a fine player at Tigerland.

Still, Shai Bolton has been the most exciting young talent on Richmond's list and looks like a star in the making.

The Western Australian averages 20.9 touches a game and ranks 9th in the AFL for inside-50's, whilst he is also currently recording a mean of a goal a game this season.

The twinned threats of Bolton's speed and ball use have become so damaging that he is now considered to be one of the league's most in demand players.
