The forward line is the glamour position in Australian football, home to the game's most famous and loved players.

The front six often grab the headlines with match-winning hauls and highlight-reel moments, providing the finishing touch that turns dominance into scoreboard pressure.

Forward groups signify a club's attacking identity, with elite sides boasting multifaceted attacks and rebuilding teams typically lacking the firepower to convert inside 50s effectively.

So, who claims the crown as the best attack in the AFL for 2025? Here's Zero Hanger's ranking, from 18th to first.

The Magpies' lack of a solid key forward option inhibited their attack at times in 2025, though the career-best output from Jamie Elliott salvaged what could have been another mediocre scoring year for the black and white.

However, clubs certainly aren't terrified of the Magpies inside forward 50, given Collingwood scored a major from just 23.5 per cent of their inside 50s. That rate is buffed from their early season dominance too, with Collingwood converting at just a 19.5 per cent clip in their last 10 matches of 2025 - an identical rate to the lowly Richmond Tigers in that same period, and only slightly better than West Coast's.

Time will tell if the acquisition of Jack Buller from Sydney helps turn things around, but the departure of Brody Mihocek is certainly reason for concern, given Daniel McStay has yet to become the spearhead the club has needed on a consistent basis since joining in 2023.
