The forward line is the glamour position in Australian football, home to the game's most famous and loved players.

The front six often grab the headlines with match-winning hauls and highlight-reel moments, providing the finishing touch that turns dominance into scoreboard pressure.

Forward groups signify a club's attacking identity, with elite sides boasting multifaceted attacks and rebuilding teams typically lacking the firepower to convert inside 50s effectively.

So, who claims the crown as the best attack in the AFL for 2025? Here's Zero Hanger's ranking, from 18th to first.

The recruitment of small forward Shai Bolton weaponised Fremantle's forward line in ways hardly seen before.

Seven Dockers kicked at least a goal per game in 2025 (minimum 15 games played), and Bolton was instrumental to that, involved in 29.9 per cent of all Fremantle scores. That's not just a team-high, but it is the greatest score involvement rate among recruits from the 2024 trade and free agency period.

From the talls (Patrick Voss, Josh Treacy, Jye Amiss) to the crumbers (Bolton, Murphy Reid, Michael Frederick), Fremantle's forward was one of the most versatile in 2025 and will take some defensive effort to shut down effectively in 2026.
