An Essendon young gun has made his first appearance in our Rookie Rankings for 2025 following another strong outing in the red and black in Round 19.

He takes Luke Trainor's spot in our top eight, with the other seven rookies in contention holding their spots from last week.

A Carlton defender had his best game in the navy Blue to earn an honourable mention, joining two Tigers and an Eagles midfielder in doing so.

It was a difficult game for the Saints, who managed to claw their way back from a slow start but still fell to Geelong by more than five goals on Sunday.

Hall was among the better performers for the away side, amassing 21 disposals, nine contested possessions and 346 metres gained in the loss.

The outing adds to a stellar past month for Hall, who continues to close the gap on the top three rookies in our rankings.

The Saints, who have lost six games on the trot, have a winnable contest this weekend when they host the Demons at Marvel on Sunday.
