Ted Clohesy's 2026 club has been confirmed, with the midfielder signing with SANFL side Woodville-West Torrens.
Clohesy featured in 12 senior games for the Geelong Cats over the last three seasons, being recruited as a category B rookie in 2022.
The 21-year-old was delisted by the Cats and was hoping for an AFL lifeline, but after the completion of the Draft, he is heading to the SANFL.
Clohesy only featured in one game in his first season, and two the next, and showed some promising signs in the VFL, averaging 22 disposals and a goal a game in the 2024 VFL season.
His VFL performances in 2024, set him up to feature in nine games during the 2025 season for the senior side, where he averaged 7.9 disposals per game.
CEO of the Eagles, David Couzner, had this to say about the SANFL sides' new signing.
"What really struck us throughout our conversations with Ted was his character. He's grounded, hardworking, and eager to embrace the culture and direction we are building at the Eagles," he said.
"Ted, along with his partner Piper and their families, are excited to become part of the Eagles community. We're just as excited to welcome them and see Ted pull on the Eagles guernsey next season.
"This is a significant signing for our Club, and we can't wait for you to see what Ted brings in 2026."
Clohesy joins several former AFL players who have also joined SANFL sides.
Harry Lemmey(West Adelaide), Jed McEntee (Sturt), Loch Rawlinson (Sturt), Jack Delean (South Adelaide), Will Verrall (South Adelaide), Harry Boyd (Norwood), Josh Fahey (Central District).
