The Giants were able to claim two victories in their clashes with Gold Coast on Saturday, with the VFL side proving too strong.

Nick Haynes and Conor Stone were everywhere, collecting 38 and 33 disposals respectively, whilst also combined for 29 marks.

Phoenix Gothard kicked four goals while Max Gruzewski and Nathan Wardius slotted pairs each.

Midfielder James Leake was relentless in the centre, laying 12 tackles to go alongside his 25 possessions.

The Suns will rue their chances missed, kicking 6.15 in a 27-point loss.

Rory Atkins led the way with 38 disposals while Brayden Fiorini wasn't far behind with 33 of his own.

An eight-goal Swans first quarter wasn't enough to get the job done as Brisbane ran out eventual winners.

Logan Morris capitalised on fast ball movement, slotting four goals while mid-season draftee Will McLachlan kicked three.

Ruckman Darcy Fort was pivotal all day to the Lions' chances, recording 47 hit-outs, nine clearances and 23 touches.

Midfield brigade Jaxon Prior (33 touches and six marks), Jarryd Lyons (one goal, 25 possessions and eight clearances) and James Tunstill (27 disposals and six marks) were huge.

Defender-turned-forward Joel Hamling proved to be a force to be reckoned with, but his goal-kicking let him down (1.4).

The Dolphins continued their winning streak after a seven-goal blitz in the second term.

Matt Johnson was the catalyst of the resurgence following a slow start, kicking four goals and being the difference maker up forward.

Sebastian Quirk and Thomas Murphy stuffed the stats sheet, combining for three majors, 56 touches, 14 clearances and 15 tackles.

Ruckman Angus Grant (49 hit-outs) helped feed the Dolphins' midfield.

Untried ruck Will Verrall looks like a prospect for the future as he continues to build his game to AFL standard while the Demons forward struggled in the wet.

Sandringham Zebras (60) def. Southport Sharks (59)

An Isaac Keeler goal late in the final term delivered the Zebras a miraculous one-point victory.

Keeler's matchwinner was one of three that he slotted for the day, showing he can do it at either end.

Matthew Allison couldn't find the big sticks, missing on four occasions while ruck duo Max Heath (20 hit-outs, six clearances and 19 touches) and Tom Campbell (34 hit-outs, 19 possessions and eight marks) were also crucial.

Paddy Dow gathered 32 disposals and 11 clearances while defender Ben Paton found plenty of the ball.

As for the Sharks, Jacob Dawson couldn't have done much more, collecting 39 touches and 13 clearances at Trevor Barker Oval.

His efforts were joined by Boyd Woodcock (35 possessions and eight clearances) and Jesse Joyce (25 disposals and eight marks).

North Melbourne (46) def. by Box Hill Hawks (60)

Seamus Mitchell led the Hawks to a 14-point victory, gathering 33 disposals and nine marks.

Sam Mitchell would've been impressed by Harry Morrison's response to being dropped, amassing 25 touches and 10 marks.

Jai Serong and Henry Hustwaite were also crucial in the win.

North Melbourne's Jaidyn Stephenson was arguably the best afield, collecting 30 disposals and 11 marks.

Blake Drury kicked three goals in the low-scoring affair while Hugh Greenwood was a contested beast, laying nine tackles to go with his 11 clearances and 22 possessions.

Werribee Tigers (103) def. Northern Bullants (49)

The Tigers cemented the top spot with a comprehensive nine-goal victory over the Bullants.

Hudson Garoni and Jay Dahlhaus did the most damage, kicking five and four goals while Aidan Johnson joined in on the act with three of his own.

Dom Brew continues to put together a stellar season, gathering 32 touches, 16 clearances and nine tackles in the win.

As for the Bullants, not many highlights from the loss.

Patrick Fairlie and Liam Mackie put together strong performances while Caleb Franks kicked a pair of goals.

Geelong (57) drew with Footscray Bulldogs (57)

The Cats and Dogs could not be split when the final siren rang.

Tanner Bruhn will be in the selection frame after his day out, recording 35 disposals, 10 clearances, seven tackles and a goal.

Rhys Stanley will also come into consideration after 46 hit-outs, 18 touches, one goal and seven clearances.

Veteran duo Mark O'Connor and Jed Bews were consistent all day while Mitch Hardie did his senior recall chances no harm.

Despite Caleb Daniel's form, it is hard to see him back in the senior side anytime soon.

Daniel gathered 31 touches and eight clearances in the draw.

Oskar Baker kicked three goals from 18 possessions while Riley Garcia was a tackling machine, recording 11 to go with his 21 disposals and one major.

Williamstown Seagulls (58) def. Richmond (36)

Seagulls ruckman Tom Downie could have claimed the player of the weekend for his performance on Saturday against the Tigers.

Downie's stat line looked like this: 28 disposals, 69 hit-outs, 11 clearances, six tackles, five marks and two goals.

Ex-Tiger Riley Collier-Dawkins capitalised on the ruck dominance as did Will Fordham.

Richmond was valiant in defeat and outings from Lachlan Wilson has the coaching group impressed with where this team can go.

Wilson recorded 28 touches, 16 tackles and 13 clearances.

Jacob Bauer kicked two goals while mid-season draftee Jacob Blight was strong in defence.

Potential No.1 Pick Jagga Smith made his VFL debut on Saturday for the Tigers and was super impressive.

Smith recorded 31 touches, eight clearances and three tackles as he pressed his case for the illustrious first pick in the National Draft.

Collingwood 50 def. by Carlton 133

Carlton was emphatic on Sunday, led by duo Jaxon Binns and Zavier Maher.

The Blues pair combined for six goals, 81 touches, 17 marks and 10 clearances in a dominant display.

Cooper Lord (two goals and 23 disposals) was strong in his performance while Brodie Kemp was serviceable after he was dropped.

Jack Bytel was clearly Collingwood's best, gathering 31 possessions and nine clearances.

Ruckman Mason Cox returned to play in his bid for an AFL recall, amassing 11 touches and 22 hit-outs.
