Premiership Collingwood ruck Mason Cox will reportedly sign with Fremantle once the SSP opens.

Cox was delisted by Collingwood at the conclusion of the 2025 season, having played 139 games since he debuted on Anzac Day 10 years ago.

The American Pie was also pivotal to the club's flag three years ago.

The Dockers are looking to bolster their tall stocks after farewelling Liam Reidy, who joined Carlton via a trade, and will sign Cox as early as next week, per AFL Media.

"Fremantle is set to sign Collingwood premiership player Mason Cox as a SSP recruit to be a back-up ruck, with the delisted Magpie skipping nominating for the draft, which means he can sign with any club in the SSP period," Cal Twomey confirmed on AFL.com.au.

Cox is set to provide support for the ruck duo of Luke Jackson and Sean Darcy, especially the latter, who has played 44 games in three campaigns due to persistent injury.

The inclusion of Cox would also help alleviate the pressure on emerging forwards Patrick VossJye Amiss and Josh Treacy, as well as add some much-needed experience.

The removal of the sub rule and adding an extra on the bench has also opened the door for more talls to be used on game day.

The Supplemental Selection Period will open on November 24, and will run throughout the pre-season as the last chance for AFL clubs to add to their list ahead of the new season.
