Western Bulldogs midfielder Adam Treloar has again succumbed to calf tightness, with the club putting him on a modified program for the next few weeks.
Although supposedly minor, the interruption to what could be his final pre-season does not bode well for his chances of playing a meaningful role for this third club, in 2026. Of further concern is the fact that this is the recurrence of an injury Treloar grappled with for much of 2025; an injury that restricted him to just four appearances at the top level, fuelling talks of retirement.
"An assessment regarding his availability for the AAMI Community Series game against Hawthorn is to be made early next week," the club said.

The club also provided updates on a quartet of other players currently grappling with injury concerns, headlined by Riley Garcia's long road back from hamstring surgery. The club expect to be in a position to communicate a return to play timeline for the 25-year-old within eight weeks.
Electric small forward Cody Weightman is expected to miss the first month of the season, as he continues to work his way back from complex knee issues that cost him the entire 2025 campaign.
Fringe players Lachlan Carmichael and Josh Dolan are pushing for early-season selection.
Carmichael is 'progressing well' after a syndesmosis injury in late January, with the club looking to assess his availability for the Hawthorn clash in the coming days. Dolan's recovery from foot soreness is tracking well, with the club expecting him to play some minutes in the AAMI Community Series.
