Veteran recruits were the stars of Round 13 as notable additions at the AFL's two largest clubs push themselves into the Power Rankings.

A strong performance from a former Blue tightens their stranglehold on the second rank, while an underwhelming afternoon in the wet has caused a pivotal Sun to slip.

Who's making the most impact in their new colours? Welcome to the weekly rankings of the Recruit of the Year contenders for 2025, with Round 12 giving us plenty to consider.

2. Matthew Kennedy (-)

Even with a disheartening loss to Hawthorn, Matthew Kennedy showed up as per, involved in almost every facet imaginable. His 29 disposals and a goal made him arguably the Dogs' most impactful player on the night, also bringing the intensity around the football with eight tackles laid and four clearances from stoppage.

Round 14 poses as another chance for Kennedy to cement his case as the league's best recruit, his last outing against St Kilda seeing him kick two goals and create seven scores from 22 disposals.
