Veteran recruits were the stars of Round 13 as notable additions at the AFL's two largest clubs push themselves into the Power Rankings.

A strong performance from a former Blue tightens their stranglehold on the second rank, while an underwhelming afternoon in the wet has caused a pivotal Sun to slip.

Who's making the most impact in their new colours? Welcome to the weekly rankings of the Recruit of the Year contenders for 2025, with Round 12 giving us plenty to consider.

3. Shai Bolton (+1)

Despite not playing, Bolton has jumped into the top three as his overall impact is not matched by many other recruits at the moment. His 1.5 goals per game rank second on the Dockers behind spearhead Josh Treacy and amongst off-season recruits, that figure ranks him first.

He also ranks first for recruits in goal assists (0.8 per game) and second in score involvements (6.9) behind Bailey Smith. In terms of scoreboard impact, there's quite literally no other recruit doing more than Bolton is for Fremantle.

The Dockers have a fortnight at Optus Stadium with games against North Melbourne and Essendon to come. For Bolton personally, it's a venue he's slowly turning into a fortress of his own, averaging almost two more disposals per game there compared to on the road.
