Collingwood star ruckman Darcy Cameron has quashed rumours of a shock departure from the Magpies, officially signing a three-year contract extension on Monday, while the club has also announced Scott Pendlebury will play on in 2026.
Earlier reports had suggested that Cameron may seek a move west to join the Eagles, with contract negotiations between him and the Pies stalling, but ultimately, talks between the parties progressed, leading to his commitment until the end of 2029.
The re-signing comes off the back of a career year for the 30-year-old, averaging 17.8 disposals and 28.2 hitouts per game. Cameron highlighted his love for the club that built his AFL career, joining the Magpies in 2020 after featuring in just one game for the Swans in the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
“I'm incredibly grateful to sign on for a further three years. Collingwood is a special place and I'm proud to call it home,” Cameron said.
“With a single game under my belt when I arrived, to now playing over 100, the Pies put their faith in me, and I'll be forever grateful for the growth and opportunities I've had since arriving at the club.
“Recommitting to Collingwood was an easy decision. This Club means a lot to me, and now feels like the right time to commit again. We have such a special group here, from the players to the coaches and all staff, and I can't wait to see what we achieve over the coming years.”

Scott Pendlebury's extension means he will officially play an equal-AFL record 21st season, tying games record holder and North Melbourne legend Brent Harvey. Pendlebury has continued to defy Father Time in a stellar career, currently averaging over 23 disposals per game at 37 years old.
General Manager of List and Talent Strategy Justin Leppitsch was excited to bring back both veterans, providing Collingwood with stability ahead of a looming premiership charge in September.
"Darcy has become a key pillar of our side, both on and off the field," Leppitsch said of Cameron.
“'DC' has been a consistent performer and a great teammate. His versatility, contested marking and ability to cover the ground makes him a top line ruckman in our competition.
“His work ethic, leadership and team-first approach sets a great example for all around him, and we're excited to see what he can continue to deliver in the years ahead.
“[Pendlebury's] professionalism is second to none, always ensuring he sets himself up to get the best out of himself and his teammates.
“In addition to his on-field contribution, it is the guidance he will provide his fellow teammates, setting the standards and embodying what it means to be a Collingwood person, that will be influential throughout our 2026 campaign and beyond.”
The pair will look to make their impact felt in a season-defining clash with Adelaide at Adelaide Oval in Round 23 in the hopes of cementing a top four spot.
