Collingwood's Nick Daicos has revealed that he was dealing with two injuries during the club's 2025 finals campaign, which ultimately ended at the hands of Brisbane in the penultimate week.

Following the club's exit, Daicos was sent for scans, which showed bone bruising on the fifth metatarsal of his right foot, whilst suffering a PCL injury in the week leading up to the Lions clash.

The 22-year-old will be eased back into training since returning from Dubai alongside brother Josh, as well as captain Darcy Moore and teammate Isaac Quaynor.

It is understood that he'll complete just over 50 per cent of the pre-season training before Christmas.

"Building up my training loads, it's been a bit frustrating at times," Daicos said on 7News.

"You want to be doing everything you can. But naturally, I was forced to have some time off, which will be a good thing in the long run.

"I didn't need any surgery, just more time off."

In a bid to continue his rehabilitation and improve his running, Daicos has spent a large amount of his off-season alongside Quaynor.

The premiership defender is one of the best runners at the Pies, while the father-son gun went one further to suggest he could be among the elite in the competition.

"We really bond doing a lot of our training together," Daicos added.

"He's one of the best runners in the AFL. So, for me to run with him, and do a lot of my training with him is always good."

Although Daicos gets plenty out of their sessions together, the feeling is mutual for the No.13.

"Running-wise, I probably push him," Quaynor said.

"But everything to do with the football, he pushes me."

The entire Collingwood squad is set to descend on the KGM Centre on Monday for the official beginning of the pre-season.

The first-to-fourth-year players returned last week, while a host of veterans, led by Jeremy Howe and Jordan De Goey, were seen on the track earlier than expected.
