Collingwood captain Darcy Moore underwent post season shoulder surgery after sustaining an injury in May.
Moore missed Rounds 10 and 11 with injury, with Channel 7's Mitch Cleary, revealing that he played through the injury for the rest of the year before getting surgery.
"As it is with the AFL, after two weeks off, you've just got to get out there again and yeah, did a little bit of damage playing with it for the rest of the season," Moore told 7 News from a Collingwood commercial trip to Dubai.
"So (I) just had that cleaned up in the off-season and it's recovering really well."
While the 29-year-old will be eased back into contact training, he remains hopeful of featuring in February's State of Origin series, and also expressed his desire to remain the Magpies skipper in 2026.
"2025 as a body of work shows us that when we do what we do and lock in on ourselves, it is good enough."
Collingwood's first to fourth year players returned to training this week, with the entire list back on deck from next week.
