Dual Brownlow Medallist Chris Judd has declared that Melbourne are the only team capable of challenging Richmond this season.

Speaking on Triple M's Rush Hour on Thursday, Judd believes GWS could also pose a threat if they can get some of their injured players back.

"(The Giants can go a long way) If they keep fit. They had a lot of injuries at the start of the year. And if felt like they were getting most of them back.

"But to lose four on the weekend it makes it tricky.

"It feels like one of those years where the teams that can challenge Richmond just seem to be dropping like flies.

"It's hard to see West Coast challenging now with no Gaff and Nic Nat. Josh Kennedy had had a pretty interrupted run into finals as well."

The former Eagles and Carlton champion said that the Demons loom as the biggest threat to the Tigers given their considerably lesser injury toll in comparison to their fellow contenders.

"Melbourne are the one for me."
