Geelong star Jeremy Cameron is under an injury cloud ahead of next week's AFL Origin match in Perth, with the reigning Coleman Medal winner continuing to recover from the broken arm he sustained in last year's grand final.

Cameron attempted to finish the season decider despite the injury, and underwent post-season surgery to have himself best-placed for the 2026 campaign.

The veteran sharpshooter has remained on a modified program as the Cats close in on their opening clash of the pre-season, which Cameron is expected to miss due to his Origin commitments with Victoria.

The Cats spearhead could miss the representative clash given the stage of his rehabilitation, with Cameron sporting a non-contact cap and having his arm strapped at training this week.

"More than four months on from that broken arm on Grand Final Day, Cameron remains on a modified training program," 7 News reporter Mitch Cleary said on Monday night.

"He's still building confidence in the injury 12 days out from Origin."

Cameron is one of just two tall forwards named for Victoria, who will be coached by Geelong senior coach Chris Scott.

Young Western Bulldogs tall Sam Darcy is the parterning forward named in the current squad, with Toby Greene the only other full-time forward to be selected for the Big V so far.

Several spots are yet to be filled ahead of the clash between Western Australia and Victoria on February 14, while Cameron could be joined by WA's Brandon Starcevich (knee) in having to make way due to injury.

More squad additions are expected to be confirmed as early as this week.
