Geelong fans can breathe a sigh of relief as injury fears surrounding defender Jack Henry have been quashed by senior coach Chris Scott.
Henry was substituted from Friday night's clash with Essendon at half-time with hamstring tightness, but Scott was able to confirm the positive status of the 26-year-old post-game.
"Jack Henry was subbed out at half-time, he just had a little bit of a tight hamstring, but the feedback is he's okay," Scott said.
However, Scott was unsure whether the tightness was in the same hamstring that Henry strained against Melbourne in Round 4 this season, which left him on the sidelines for five weeks.
"The main takeaway is that they said he's okay. If [which leg] was an important detail, they would have told me."
Geelong also made a late change an hour before the first bounce, withdrawing Jack Martin for precautionary management reasons. It comes a week after his historic four-goal burst against Port Adelaide, leaving many surprised by the late out.
Scott highlighted Martin's extensive injury history to explain the decision to manage him off Geelong's five-day break.
"He was a little bit tight in the last 24 hours or so, and in the end, there was just enough reasons there to say, 'let's take the more conservative route and get it right for next week'," Scott said.
"But I think it's reasonable to say, it was an ultra-conservative call on a guy with a pretty lengthy injury history.
"He's been in great form. We're really excited for what he can do for us, and the risk-reward just didn't seem to add up with Jack (Martin). But there's no injury. Supremely confident that he'll hit the ground running on Monday."
Geelong's 44-point win over Essendon elevates them into second place on the ladder while they look ahead to an epic midfield battle with Sydney in Round 23.
